Dwarf goats have a very variable coloration: from white to black specimens and with a variety of spots of intermediate colors. They also have backwards-curving horns and a tuft of hair on the chin called a "beard".
They are gregarious animals, living in matriarchal groups of up to 20 individuals. The dwarf goat is a domestic species that has been introduced for food purposes, as it is raised mainly for meat and dairy products derived from its milk. However, it has also been found feral, living in mountain environments.
